Game Log

How to Play — Math Poker

    Game Setup

3-5 players compete. Each starts with $235 in chips. Small Blind (SB) starts at $5 and increases by $1 each round. Big Blind (BB) = 2×SB.

    Game Flow

    Each hand has 3 rounds: Draw 1 → Bet 1 → Draw 2 → Bet 2 → Draw 3 → Bet 3 → Showdown

    • First Draw: Each player receives 5 cards
    • Betting: Fold (quit), Check (no bet if allowed), Call (match bet), or Raise (increase bet)
    • Second/Third Draw: Discard 0-5 cards and draw replacements
    • Showdown: Best hand wins the pot!

    Hand Values (Calculate Maximum Points)

    • Singletons: 2-10 = face value, J/Q/K = 11, A = 12
    • Pair: 2 × singleton value (e.g., pair of 6s = 6² = 36)
    • Three of Kind: 3 × singleton value (e.g., three 7s = 7³ = 343)
    • Four of Kind: 4 × singleton value (e.g., four 5s = 5⁴ = 625)
    • Straight/Flush: 7 × (highest card)²
    • Full House: 2 × (3 of kind + Pair)
    • Straight Flush: Multiply all 5 card values

    Examples

    Pair of 6s + J + 4 + 3: 6² + 11 + 4 + 3 = 36 + 11 + 4 + 3 = 54

    Three 7s + Pair of 4s: 2 × (7³ + 4²) = 2 × (343 + 16) = 718

    Straight 4-8: 7 × 8² = 7 × 64 = 448

    Special Rules

Jokers: Can be any card not used in anyone's hand. Choose wisely!

Straights: 5 consecutive cards (A can be high or low)

Flush: 5 cards of same suit

    Detailed Guide — Math Poker

    Objective

Win all the money by having the best mathematical hand value or by making others fold!

    Hand Calculation Guide

Your goal is to find the maximum points from disjoint groups:

    Basic Values

    • Number cards (2-10): face value
    • Jack (J), Queen (Q), King (K): 11 points each
    • Ace (A): 12 points
    • Joker: Can be ANY card not used in other hands

    Combinations

    • Pair: value² (e.g., pair of 8s = 8² = 64)
    • Three of Kind: value³ (e.g., three 9s = 9³ = 729)
    • Four of Kind: value⁴ (e.g., four 4s = 4⁴ = 256)
    • Straight: 5 consecutive cards → 7 × (highest)²
    • Flush: 5 same suit → 7 × (highest)²
    • Full House: 3 of kind + pair → 2 × (three + pair)
    • Straight Flush: card₁ × card₂ × card₃ × card₄ × card₅

    Strategy Tips

    • Look for high pairs and three-of-a-kinds first
    • Straights and flushes give bonus multipliers
    • Use Jokers to complete high-value combinations
    • Practice mental math to calculate quickly!

    Betting Actions

    • Fold: Give up your hand and lose any money already bet
    • Check: Pass (only if no raise has been made)
    • Call: Match the current bet
    • Raise: Increase the bet amount

    Winning

The game ends when one player has all the money. The pot increases each round as blinds increase!
